Stay Election Ready

Michigan

Register to Vote Deadlines:

In Person: Any time up to 8 p.m. on Election Day at your city or township clerk's office.

By Mail: Postmarked 15 days before Election Day. This would be Monday, October 21st.

Online: 15 days before Election Day. This would be Monday, October 21st.

Early Voting Deadlines:

The early voting period begins the second Saturday prior to Election Day and ends the Sunday before an election. However, communities may decide to provide additional days of early voting. Under state law, communities can offer up to 28 days of early voting.

Absentee Voting:

Online applications may be submitted until 5 p.m. the Friday before Election Day. To ensure there is enough time to receive and return an absentee ballot, plan on submitting the absentee ballot application online at least 15 days before Election Day. This would be Monday, October 21st.

Register to Vote Deadlines:

In Person: 30 days before Election Day, extended to the next business day if this falls on a Sunday or holiday. This would be Monday, October 7th.

By Mail: Postmarked 30 days before Election Day, extended to the next business day if this falls on a Sunday or holiday. This would be Monday, October 7th.

Online: 30 days before Election Day, but extended to next business day if a Sunday or holiday. This would be Monday, October 7th.

Early Voting Deadlines:

Starts on October 8 and includes the two Saturdays and the two Sundays before Election Day.

Absentee Voting:

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is seven days before the election in which you want to vote. If mailed, absentee ballots must be postmarked by the day before the election in order to be counted. You can also return your absentee ballot in person to youbefore the close of the polls at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
